A High Entropy Alloy (HEA) is made of 5 or more elements and a Medium Entropy Alloy (MEA) is made of 2-4 elements with an equal atomic percentage. They have been popular among metallurgists and material scientists over the last two decades because they have excellent strength, ductility, oxidation resistance,and thermal stability. In addition, their mechanical properties increasewith decreasing temperature. For example, the CoCrFeMnNi HEA exhibited an Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) and ductility of 600±40 MPa and 47% at room temperature, respectively. Moreover, the UTS and ductility increased up to 1060 ± 70 MPa and ~60% at cryogenic temperature, respectively.
